The Department of Sociology at Virtual University (VU), in partnership with Muslim Hands NGO, successfully organized a tree plantation event aimed at fostering environmental sustainability and enhancing societal well-being. The initiative saw the planting of 150 fruit trees across the Raiwind Road and Kala Shah Kaku (KSK) campuses, contributing meaningfully to the greening of the environment.

Muslim Hands was represented by Program Manager Ms. Asma Gul, who, along with her team, actively participated in the event. Notable guests included Dr. Ambreen Anjum, Head of the Psychology Department; Dr. Asif Nadeem Associate Professor, Department of Biological Sciences; Dr. Sadia Jabeen, Head of the Sociology Department; Dr. Akhtar Ali, Associate Professor Department of Biological Sciences and Dr. Sumbal Tahir, Head of the Education Department. Their presence, along with the faculty members from the Sociology department, lent further significance to the initiative.

The event was organized under the leadership of Mr. Muhammad Usman, Campus Manager at Raiwind Road, and was supported by Dr. Sidra Abbas, Lecturer in Sociology at VU and the focal person for the "Plant for Pakistan" campaign. Special appreciation was extended to the faculty of the Education Department and other departments for their valuable contributions in making the event a success.

This collaborative effort highlights the shared commitment of Virtual University and Muslim Hands NGO towards a greener and more sustainable future.
