SUMMER SEMESTER RULES (2024)

The link for “Course Selection” will be active/ available with effect from Monday, August 05, 2024, under the “Student Services” tab in VULMS. The students are advised to log in to their VULMS account and select their course(s) immediately or before the semester commencement date.  However, the last date to add/drop course(s) will be Sunday, August 11, 2024.
 

1. The Summer Semester will be an optional semester.
2. The Summer Semester duration will be 9 weeks.
3. Fees will be charged on a per credit hour basis for the enrolled courses as per university rules.
4. The contact hours per week during the Summer Semester will be more than the regular semester to cover the course contents in reduced time duration of the semester.
5. All academic and assessment activities will be conducted in the summer semester as per the university academic regulations.
6. A student must have attended at least one semester at Virtual University to enroll in Summer Semester.
7. The Summer Semester will be available for students to retake failed courses (where they have received an ‘F’ grade) or to repeat courses for grade improvement.
8. Lab and practicum courses can also be registered during the Summer Semester for failure, repetition, or improvement.
9. A student will be allowed to register for a maximum of 8 credit hours (i.e. max 2 theory courses and one Lab course).
10. Students cannot enroll in the advanced course(s) for the next semester(s). However, they can enroll where the time bar is a constraint, a maximum of 8 credit hours (two courses)
    subject to the approval of the committee.
11. Mid-term and Final-term examinations in Summer Semester will be conducted according to the schedule given by the Registrar’s Office of the Virtual University.
12. The Virtual University reserves the right to offer, amend, or discontinue Summer Semester offerings based on the University’s needs and resources.
